BREAKFAST radio announcer and one half of Those Two Girls, Lise Carlaw, is warming the HIT105 breakfast chair for Abby Coleman who has just had a baby boy.

The wife of former footy star, Dane Carlaw, also hosts the 5am to 6am spot.

Where do you live and why?

We live on acreage in Eatons Hill, on Brisbane’s northside.

A few years back, we were inner-city dwellers in Norman Park, but after the birth of our second son we needed a tree-change. And no neighbours. Because, boys.

What do you love about your home?

We live in a 103-year old Queenslander surrounded by purple Jacaranda trees — what’s not to love?

She’s a grand old dame, full of character, with gorgeous high ceilings, original timber flooring and french doors a-plenty.

And the space!

We’re on just shy of two acres, so with two boys, a husband and a Great Dane, having room to run about, a pool to expend energy in and neighbours further afield is just great.

What would you change about your home?

Plenty.
And we have!

We’ve just wrapped up nine months of renovation work - building in downstairs, repainting the old girl inside and out, full kitchen re-do, and the addition of a fireplace.

Our home is a constant work-in-progress and that’s what we love.

Next up? Front gates, lights along the driveway and maybe a shed upgrade for the spouse.

What is the best thing about your suburb?

Eatons Hill is lovely for families.

We’re very well serviced out here when it comes to sporting facilities, venues and the like.

It’s a little further out which means it’s quiet and relaxed.

We like popping into Samford for a coffee, which is less than ten minutes from our place and my husband is mad for a motorbike ride out to Dayboro.

We also love the easy access to the Sunshine Coast.

If money was no option, what would be your fantasy home and where?

I wouldn’t mind a pied-à-terre in Manhattan and a beach ‘shack’ in Kingscliff, please and thank you.

What was the best piece of property advice you were give?

Don’t buy and sell within a year while you’re a pregnant, hormonal, emotional mess.
